Preview Roundups
February 12, 2017
San Jose at New Jersey 12:30 PM ET
The Pacific Division-leading San Jose Sharks hope to put an end to their four-game winless streak Sunday afternoon as they wrap up a four-game road trip against the New Jersey Devils. San Jose fell to 0-1-2 on the trek and 0-1-3 in its last four contests overall by dropping a 2-1 decision at Philadelphia in overtime on Saturday.
Detroit at Minnesota 3:00 PM ET
The Western Conference-leading Minnesota Wild attempt to extend their point streak to five contests when they continue their eight-game homestand Sunday afternoon against the Detroit Red Wings. Minnesota is 3-0-1 during its run following Friday's shootout victory over Tampa Bay, which improved it to 1-0-1 during its string of home games, and has lost in regulation just once over its last eight overall contests (6-1-1).
Dallas at Nashville 6:00 PM ET
The Nashville Predators are very eager to get back on the ice after one of their worst performances of the season as they host the Central Division-rival Dallas Stars on Sunday. The Predators surrendered four goals in the second period en route to a humbling 7-4 home loss to Florida on Saturday - their third setback in four games as they try to hold on to a wild-card spot in the Western Conference.
Colorado at NY Islanders 6:00 PM ET
One day after wasting an opportunity to move closer to the second wild-card berth in the Eastern Conference, the New York Islanders get another chance Sunday as they host the league-worst Colorado Avalanche. New York was blanked 3-0 in Ottawa on Saturday and remained three points behind Toronto, which hosts a showdown between the clubs on Tuesday.
Montreal at Boston 7:30 PM ET
Bruce Cassidy goes for a third straight victory since taking over as coach when his Boston Bruins host the Atlantic Division-leading Montreal Canadiens on Sunday. The Bruins knocked off San Jose 6-3 on Thursday after Cassidy replaced the fired Claude Julien and followed that by scoring a late goal to edge Vancouver 4-3 two days later.
Vancouver at Buffalo 7:30 PM ET
The Buffalo Sabres are trying to hang around in the playoff race a little longer and look to earn at least one point for the fifth time in seven games when they host the fading Vancouver Canucks on Sunday. The Sabres are five points out of the second wild-card spot in the Eastern Conference after putting together a solid effort in Sunday's 3-1 victory at Toronto.
