Preview Roundups
March 05, 2017
Indiana at Atlanta 1:00 PM ET
The Indiana Pacers know they have lost most of their margin for error in the Eastern Conference playoff race, and look to break a 2-8 skid when they visit the Atlanta Hawks on Sunday in the fourth stop of a five-game road trip. The Pacers did upend Houston on Monday and had chances in the final seconds Wednesday before falling at San Antonio, but entered Saturday just two games ahead of Detroit for seventh place in the East.
Golden State at New York 3:30 PM ET
The Golden State Warriors have dropped consecutive regular-season contests for the first time in nearly two years and will try to avoid their first three-game losing streak since November of 2013 when they visit the New York Knicks on Sunday. After opening a five-game road trip with a win at Philadelphia, the Warriors lost a thriller at Washington before falling 94-87 at Chicago on Thursday in their first game since losing All-Star Kevin Durant to a knee injury.
Boston at Phoenix 5:00 PM ET
The Boston Celtics had no issues starting a five-game road trip on a good note and they look to duplicate their effort in a visit to the Phoenix Suns on Sunday. Following a critical four-point home win over the Eastern Conference-leading Cleveland Cavaliers, the Celtics opened the trip with a 115-95 rout of the Los Angeles Lakers on Friday.
Orlando at Washington 5:00 PM ET
The Washington Wizards have cooled off a bit after a blazing stretch and look to post a win before taking off for a difficult road trip when they entertain the inconsistent Orlando Magic on Sunday. The Wizards are 2-3 in their last five outings after winning 18 of the previous 21 contests and embark on a busy five-game road trip over a seven-day period, starting in Phoenix on Tuesday.
Utah at Sacramento 6:00 PM ET
The Utah Jazz recovered nicely from perhaps their worst loss of the season and now look to build another winning streak when they visit the Sacramento Kings on Sunday. A 107-80 loss to the sub-.500 Minnesota Timberwolves on Wednesday stands as the most lopsided home defeat of the season for the Jazz, but they regained their footing with a 15-point win over Brooklyn two nights later.
Oklahoma City at Dallas 8:30 PM ET
Russell Westbrook continues to pile up the statistical accomplishments but the wins are not always there for the Oklahoma City Thunder, who will lean on the All-Star guard again in Sunday's visit to the Dallas Mavericks. Westbrook became the ninth player in NBA history to record four straight 40-point games Friday while falling an assist shy of his fourth triple-double in his last five outings.
New Orleans at L.A. Lakers 9:30 PM ET
The acquisition of All-Star center DeMarcus Cousins has yet to make an impact for the New Orleans Pelicans and they are running out of time to get back in the race for a playoff spot in the Western Conference. The Pelicans do not own a victory with Cousins on the floor and hope to change that when they visit the West cellar-dwelling Los Angeles Lakers on Sunday night.
