Preview Roundups
February 28, 2017
Golden State at Washington 7:00 PM ET
The Golden State Warriors encountered few issues with Washington in recent seasons and look to post their 11th victory in the past 12 meetings when they visit the Wizards on Tuesday. Small forward Kevin Durant plays in his hometown of Washington D.C. for the first time as a member of the Warriors, after spurning the Wizards and his former Oklahoma City coach in Scott Brooks during his free-agency situation last July.
Portland at Detroit 7:30 PM ET
The Detroit Pistons and the Portland Trail Blazers are two teams that can't afford to let losses pile up as they both attempt to earn a playoff berth in their respective conferences. The Trail Blazers will try to avoid a seventh loss in nine games when they visit the Pistons on Tuesday.
Denver at Chicago 8:00 PM ET
Trading away one starter and another key rotation player in exchange for a pair of young projects might have been seen as the Chicago Bulls raising the white flag on the 2016-2017 season, but the team's recent results suggest otherwise. The Bulls will try to earn their fifth straight win and pull two games above .500 for the first time since mid-December when they host the Denver Nuggets on Tuesday.
Phoenix at Memphis 8:00 PM ET
The Memphis Grizzlies have been sputtering of late and coach David Fizdale is pondering lineup changes designed to fuel a move upward in the Western Conference standings. The Grizzlies are sixth in the West entering Tuesday's game against the visiting Phoenix Suns and Sunday's win over the Denver Nuggets was only their second in the past five games.
Utah at Oklahoma City 8:00 PM ET
Oklahoma City regularly dominates Utah at Chesapeake Arena and the Thunder look to post their 11th consecutive home victory in the series when they entertain the Jazz on Tuesday. Utah's last win in Oklahoma City was a 120-99 rout on Oct. 31, 2010, when guard Deron Williams was the franchise's best player and Hall of Famer Jerry Sloan served as coach.
Charlotte at L.A. Lakers 10:30 PM ET
The Los Angeles Lakers look like a team angling for a better draft position with three straight losses by at least 17 points and four consecutive setbacks overall. The Charlotte Hornets, who still plan to make it to the Eastern Conference playoffs, will try to take advantage of that when they visit the Lakers on Tuesday.
