Preview Roundups
February 14, 2018
Atlanta at Detroit 7:00 PM ET
The Detroit Pistons will try to avenge one of their three straight losses and enter the All-Star break on a positive note when they host the Atlanta Hawks on Wednesday. The Pistons had won five in a row prior to their slide, which includes a 118-115 setback at Atlanta on Sunday.
Charlotte at Orlando 7:00 PM ET
The road-weary Charlotte Hornets go after their 10th straight victory in the series when they visit the Orlando Magic on Wednesday night in a battle of disappointing teams. The Hornets, who entered Tuesday seven games out of a playoff spot in the Eastern Conference, have dropped four straight contests in a seven-day span after a 123-103 setback against Toronto on Sunday.
Miami at Philadelphia 7:00 PM ET
The Philadelphia 76ers are becoming tough to beat on their own court and look to complete a perfect five-game homestand when they host the Miami Heat on Wednesday. The 76ers have won the first four contests by an average of 15.3 points and are seeking their ninth consecutive victory at Wells Fargo Arena.
Indiana at Brooklyn 7:30 PM ET
Victor Oladipo is more than validating a recent selection to the All-Star Game with three outings of 30 points or more this month and looks to remain hot when his Indiana Pacers visit the struggling Brooklyn Nets on Wednesday night. Oladipo registered 30 points, nine assists, eight rebounds and six steals as Indiana improved to 6-2 in its last eight games with a 121-113 victory over New York on Sunday.
Washington at New York 7:30 PM ET
The Washington Wizards have managed to absorb a significant injury to their All-Star point guard and look to carry some momentum into the All-Star break when they visit the New York Knicks on Wednesday. The Wizards improved to 6-2 since John Wall had knee surgery after winning 101-90 at Chicago on Saturday, despite a woeful night for fellow All-Star Bradley Beal.
L.A. Clippers at Boston 8:00 PM ET
The Boston Celtics will be happy to reach the All-Star break and hit the reset button, but they must first contend with a surging Los Angeles Clippers team Wednesday at TD Garden. The Celtics have dropped eight of 14 and their first two games of the three-game homestand, including an embarrassing 22-point loss to Cleveland on Sunday before Paul Pierce's number retirement ceremony.
Toronto at Chicago 8:00 PM ET
The Toronto Raptors, who will enter the All-Star break with the best record in the Eastern Conference, look to extend their latest winning streak to a season-best seven games when they visit the Chicago Bulls on Wednesday. Toronto, which holds a one-game lead over Boston for the top spot in the East, has reeled off six straight victories for the third time this season.
Sacramento at Houston 8:00 PM ET
The torrid Houston Rockets look to continue their dominance of Sacramento when they host the Kings on Wednesday. Houston has won the past six meetings with the Kings and 13 of the last 14, including a 105-100 season-opening triumph Oct. 18.
Oklahoma City at Memphis 8:00 PM ET
The Oklahoma City Thunder got two stars back from injury Tuesday night but Russell Westbrook and Carmelo Anthony weren't able to reverse the team's recent losing trend. The Thunder will try to get back into the win column against one of the few teams they've been able to solve lately when they visit the Memphis Grizzlies on Wednesday.
L.A. Lakers at New Orleans 8:00 PM ET
The Los Angeles Lakers began a stretch of seven of eight on the road that spans the All-Star break with a loss at the Dallas Mavericks on Saturday and are getting used to having Isaiah Thomas playing big minutes at point guard. The Lakers will try to nab their first win with Thomas aboard when they visit the New Orleans Pelicans on Wednesday.
Phoenix at Utah 9:00 PM ET
The Utah Jazz are the hottest team in the NBA and used their 10th consecutive win to push past the .500 mark. The Jazz will try to keep that momentum going into the All-Star break and make it 11 in a row when they host one of the coldest teams in the league, the Phoenix Suns, on Wednesday.
Golden State at Portland 10:30 PM ET
The Portland Trail Blazers suffered their first home loss since late December when they fell to the Utah Jazz on Sunday, and avoiding a second straight setback will be difficult with the Golden State Warriors coming to town on Wednesday. The Trail Blazers have dropped 11 straight to the Warriors, including a first-round sweep in last season's playoffs.
