With their postseason hopes dealt a serious setback following a sweep by a bitter rival, the St. Louis Cardinals try to pick up the pieces when they continue a nine-game road trip Tuesday night with the first of three against the Cincinnati Reds. St. Louis was swept by first-place Chicago to fall six games behind the Cubs in the National League Central.

Matt Olson is displaying that the Oakland Athletics have a powerful first baseman in the fold for next season. Zimmerman, who missed 215 games from 2014-16 with a variety of injuries, matched a career high in homers in Washington’s 7-1 victory over the Los Angeles Dodgers on Sunday.

Hunter Renfroe's rookie campaign was interrupted by a stunning demotion but the San Diego Padres right fielder wasted no time making a contribution upon his return. Renfroe and the Padres will attempt to defeat the visiting Arizona Diamondbacks for the second straight night Tuesday after Renfroe's three-run homer highlighted San Diego's 4-2 win Monday.
Colorado at San Francisco 10:15 PM ET
The schedule is set up for the Colorado Rockies to clinch a National League wild card, they just need to win the games. The Rockies will begin their final road trip of the campaign with a visit to the NL West-worst San Francisco Giants on Tuesday to start a two-game series.
