Brad Marchand scored the deciding goal at 1:48 of overtime as the visiting Boston Bruins beat the Ottawa Senators 3-2 on Thursday night.

After Bruins goaltender Jeremy Swayman made his 35th and final save on a shot by Tim Stutzle at the opposite end of the ice, Charlie Coyle sent a cross-ice pass to Marchand for a snap shot to win the game.

Marchand passed Ray Bourque for fifth on the Bruins' all-time goal-scoring list (396).

David Pastrnak recorded a goal and an assist, Trent Frederic also tallied and Coyle had two assists for the Bruins, who had their nine-game points streak (6-0-3) snapped Wednesday with a 3-2 loss to the Carolina Hurricanes.

Swayman has won five straight and gone 5-0-3 in his past eight decisions.

Thomas Chabot scored before assisting on Vladimir Tarasenko's game-tying tally with 3:18 left in the third period for Ottawa, which was 3-0-1 in its previous four games.

Joonas Korpisalo stopped 20 shots for the Senators.

Ottawa led 37-23 in shots on goal and went 2-for-6 on the power play. Boston scored on its lone man advantage.

The Bruins recorded just two shots -- and killed off two penalties -- over the first 18 minutes of the game but still held a 1-0 lead after one period.

Pastrnak found the back of the net with 1:24 left in the opening frame, three seconds into a Boston power play. Set up by Coyle's faceoff win, Charlie McAvoy fed Pastrnak for a one-time bomb from the high slot for the opening goal.

After Swayman swept a Chabot shot off the goal line, the Bruins rushed up ice to double their lead at 8:19 of the second. Pavel Zacha picked the puck off the neutral-zone wall and sprung Frederic for a breakaway that he finished with a shot top shelf.

Ottawa finally converted on its fifth man advantage, making it a 2-1 game with 27.5 seconds to go in the second. Drake Batherson spun at the left post and dished a pass to Chabot to score off a rush down the right side and toward the front.

Josh Norris appeared to tie the score for Ottawa with 6:42 remaining in regulation, but a prior hand pass caused the goal to be waved off.

A Parker Wotherspoon cross-checking penalty resulted in a late Senators power play, and Tarasenko netted a snap shot from outside the left circle for the game-tying tally.
