The Edmonton Oilers mounted another third-period surge Friday night, when Zach Hyman, Evander Kane, Warren Foegele and Ryan McLeod all scored within a seven-minute span prior to the midway point before the visitors held off a comeback by the New York Rangers to earn a 4-3 win.

The Oilers also scored four third-period goals Thursday night to overcome a one-goal deficit and beat the New Jersey Devils 6-3. It is the third time in franchise history Edmonton has won by mounting third-period comebacks on consecutive days.

On Friday, Hyman tied the score 3:07 into the third when he took a pass in the slot from Mattias Ekholm, shuffled to his backhand and flipped a puck over Jonathan Quick's stick arm.

Derek Ryan won a faceoff to set up Kane's go-ahead goal just 70 seconds later. Kane immediately sent a shot at Quick, who tried shoving the puck out of the crease with his stick before Kane pounced on the rebound.

Foegele extended the lead to 3-1 at the 6:36 mark after taking a drop pass from McLeod, weaving into the slot and beating Quick.

Foegele and McLeod teamed up on the final goal with 10:18 left. The duo mounted a 2-on-1 in which Foegele's shot bounced into and out of the crease. Foegele retrieved the loose puck and fed McLeod, who scored from point blank range.

Stuart Skinner made 31 saves for the Oilers, who have won two straight following a three-game losing streak.

Blake Wheeler scored in the first, while Mika Zibanejad scored a power-play extra attacker goal with 4:18 left and Will Cuylle scored with one-tenth of a second remaining for the Rangers, who had their three-game winning streak snapped. Quick recorded 24 saves.

Zibanejad set up Wheeler's goal in spectacular fashion shortly beyond the midway point of the first. Chris Kreider's shot off the back boards bounced to Zibanejad, who put his stick down and, in no-look fashion, redirected the puck to Wheeler. The right winger then tucked a shot underneath Skinner's legs as the goalie was stuck leaning to his left with 8:57 left.

Quick stopped the Oilers' first 18 shots before Hyman began the third-period comeback. Rangers head coach Peter Laviolette pulled Quick with a little more than five minutes left and Zibanejad pulled New York within two goals by finishing a flurry in the crease. Cuylle scored just before the horn for the final margin.
