David Perron backhanded in a late tiebreaking goal as the Detroit Red Wings won for the first time in 10 road games, beating the Tampa Bay Lightning 4-2 on Monday.

Tied 2-2, defenseman Moritz Seider sent a long shot on goal. Perron found the rebound and potted his 15th goal at 17:20.

With the net empty as the Lightning tried to tie the match for the third time, Lucas Raymond tallied his 25th for the Wings (37-30-8, 82 points) as they broke a four-game losing streak (0-2-2).

Patrick Kane and Robby Fabbri scored and Dylan Larkin and J.T. Compher each had two assists as Detroit swept the three-game season series from Tampa Bay (41-26-7, 89 points).

The Wings are 1-7-2 in their past 10 road matches. Goalie Alex Lyon had 34 saves and won for the first time in 11 decisions (1-8-2).

Jake Walman (lower body) returned to the defensive corps for the first time since last playing on March 17.

The Wings scratched Olli Maatta, a veteran of 678 NHL games.

Steven Stamkos scored a power-play goal, the 211th of his career. That pushed him past Luc Robitaille and into third place among all-time goal scorers on the man advantage while playing for one team.

Anthony Cirelli scored and goalie Andrei Vasilevskiy made 28 saves as the Lightning's nine-game point streak ended.

The teams played through a scoreless first period with Tampa Bay holding a 16-12 shot advantage.

Just 37 seconds into the second, the 35-year-old Kane found a rebound off Larkin's shot and sent home a long backhander from the right circle for his 18th tally.

Cirelli netted an equalizer at 3:51, but his hard contact with Lyon that sent the goalie into the net before the puck went in negated the tally.

After he had a second possible tally disallowed because there was no evidence to overturn a no-goal call, Cirelli ripped in a short-handed goal from the right circle at 8:36 for the tie.

The 19th marker matched his career high set in 2018-19.

Detroit took its second lead when Compher outraced Mathew Dumba and put a puck out front that Fabbri found and deposited for his 18th goal at 3:40 of the third.

However, Stamkos matched it with his 31st marker, his 16th on the power play, for a 2-2 tie at 5:59.
