Jared McCann scored a game-winning, power-play goal in overtime and the Seattle Kraken recorded their first-ever win over the host Tampa Bay Lightning by beating them 4-3 on Monday night.
After the Lightning's Nicholas Paul went off for hooking Alex Wennberg at 1:59 of the extra session, McCann, who also had an assist, skated in from up high, took a pass from Vince Dunn and put home his fifth goal of the season at 2:53.
The Kraken won for the first time in five meetings (1-4-0) with Tampa Bay.
Kailer Yamamoto produced a goal and an assist, and Brian Dumoulin and Yanni Gourde also scored for Seattle. Jaden Schwartz handed out two assists as the Kraken ended up 2-1-1 on their four-game road trip.
In net for the first time since Oct. 21, Philipp Grubauer stopped 34 shots for his first win of the campaign.
Top-line center Matty Beniers played in his 100th NHL game.
Tanner Jeannot, Alex Barre-Boulet and Brandon Hagel each recorded a goal and an assist for the Lightning, who are riding a six-game point streak (3-0-3).
Goaltender Jonas Johansson made 39 saves as Tampa Bay slipped to 4-0-2 at home.
After shutting out the Carolina Hurricanes and San Jose Sharks last week, Johansson made the first period's best save when he stared down a two-on-zero breakaway after a turnover in the neutral zone and stopped Schwartz.
However, the Kraken erupted for a 3-1 lead over the first 20 minutes as they outshot the home side 20-9.
Dumoulin scooped a long rebound and fired home his first goal with the Kraken at 12:08 of the first. Justin Schultz notched the primary assist for his 300th NHL point.
Just 60 seconds after Dumoulin's tally, Yamamoto slipped a slick pass to Gourde, who potted his second goal of the season, but Jeannot answered with a marker on a backhand flip 29 seconds later to make it 2-1.
Yamamoto ripped home his second goal of the season on a rebound at 15:52.
On the Lightning's first power play of the second, Barre-Boulet scored the frame's lone goal at 3:40 to pull Tampa Bay within 3-2.
In the third, Hagel leveled things when he put a bad-angle shot on Grubauer that slid through the pads with 5:28 left in regulation. It was Hagel's sixth goal.
