Ducks 7, Kings 4: Nick Bonino registered his first career hat trick by scoring his first three goals of the season as host Anaheim defeated its southern California rival.

Bonino, who entered the game with six career goals, completed his hat trick and gave the Ducks a 6-4 lead after accepting a pass from Bobby Ryan in front before tucking his own rebound past Jonathan Bernier. Bonino opened the scoring at 2:30 of the first period by backhanding the puck past Jonathan Quick and doubled the advantage just 3:19 later with a wraparound goal from his stomach.

Bonino capped his brilliant evening by assisting on veteran Teemu Selanne's empty-net goal. Kyle Palmieri and defenseman Sheldon Souray had power-play goals, captain Ryan Getzlaf also scored and Jonas Hiller turned aside 30 shots for the Ducks, who rebounded after dropping five of six to Los Angeles in 2011-12.

Captain Dustin Brown scored a pair of power-play goals, while Jarret Stoll and Justin Williams also scored. Defenseman Drew Doughty collected a pair of assists for the Kings, who went 2-for-4 on the power play - after scoring on just two of their previous 33 attempts.

After Williams cleaned up his own rebound to tie the score at 4-4, Palmieri gave Anaheim its fourth lead of the contest with 3:46 remaining in the second period. Saku Koivu fed Palmieri, who went to his knee to deliver a one-timer from the slot that beat Bernier for his third goal in two games.

GAME NOTEBOOK: Bernier made 17 saves in relief of Quick, who was pulled after yielding two goals on three shots in the first 5:49 of the game. ... Anaheim D Cam Fowler suffered an upper body injury after a hit by Stoll in the second period and did not return. ... Anze Kopitar and Bobby Ryan were teammates with Mora IK in Sweden's second-tier HockeyAllsvenskan during the NHL lockout.
