Mike Miles scored 19 points, including a layup with 23 seconds remaining, to help preserve visiting TCU's 76-72 win over Iowa State in a Big 12 game on Saturday in Ames, Iowa.

TCU (12-10, 5-8 Big 12) handed Iowa State its 14th consecutive loss while snapping a three-game skid of its own, bookended with defeats of the Cyclones.

Though the Horned Frogs led for 36:37, they made little separation over the course of a back-and-forth contest.

Over a 1:25 stretch midway through the second half, Jalen Coleman-Lands made consecutive 3-pointers and Tre Jackson knocked down a third on a fast break to turn a six-point deficit into a three-point lead at 56-53 with10:17 left.

TCU immediately responded with a 10-2 run to recapture a lead it never relinquished.

Iowa State cut the Horned Frogs' advantage to one point with less than two minutes remaining when Tyler Harris found Javan Johson cutting on the baseline. Johnson was fouled on his reverse layup but missed the would-be, game-tying free throw, leaving the score 67-66.

TCU, meanwhile, made nine consecutive foul shots in the game's final three minutes, including a trio by Miles when he was fouled on a 3-point attempt on the possession after Johnson's miss for a 70-66 lead.

In addition to his team-high in scoring, Miles dished a game-high five assists and matched the game-high with six rebounds. TCU teammate Jaedon LeDee also grabbed six rebounds, contributing to the Horned Frogs' 33-28 edge on the glass.

Iowa State (2-18, 0-15) got a game-high 21 points from Coleman-Lands, who shot 4-of-6 from 3-point range. Jackson finished with 14 points, Johnson added 12 and Solomon Young notched 10.

RJ Nembhard scored 19 points for TCU despite shooting just 5-of-19 from the floor, and 1-of-6 from behind the 3-point line. Charles O'Bannon, who finished with 11 points, helped pick up the slack with a 3-of-5 effort from deep.

The Horned Frogs went 8-of-19 from beyond the arc to Iowa State's 9-of-23.

With the loss, Iowa State has just three more opportunities to avoid becoming the Big 12's first team to go winless in regular-season conference play since TCU in the 2013-14 season.
