No. 4 Florida 78, Alabama 69: Scottie Wilbekin led five players in double figures with 16 points as the Gators pulled away from the visiting Crimson Tide for their 15th consecutive victory.

Casey Prather collected 15 points and a team-high six rebounds while Michael Frazier II scored 14 as Florida (21-2, 10-0 SEC) extended its school-record home-winning streak to 29. Will Yeguete matched his season high with 12 points and Patric Young added 11 for the Gators, who shot 62 percent from the field.

Trevor Releford led the way with 25 points, including 4-of-6 from 3-point range, as Alabama (9-14, 3-7) lost for the sixth time in seven games. The Crimson Tide shot 55 percent from the field – better than 60 in the first half – but lost for the ninth straight time to the Gators.

Alabama weathered the storm as Florida scored eight points in the game’s first minute and made its first seven shots, leading by as much as 10. Releford scored 16 in the opening 20 minutes as the Crimson Tide battled back to take a seven-point edge before settling for a 36-36 tie at intermission.

Young converted a three-point play to start it and Wilbekin’s 3-pointer capped an 11-0 run early in the second half as Florida jumped in front 50-41. The Gators pushed their lead to 64-49 after another Wilbekin 3-pointer and Frazier’s layup off a turnover and Alabama could not get closer than seven after that.

GAME NOTEBOOK: Florida tied the fourth-longest win streak in program history. The Gators have won 17 straight three times. … Releford moved into 10th on Alabama’s all-time scoring list (1,702), passing Bobby Lee Hurt (1,697). … Florida had a season-high 22 assists.
