No. 21 Georgetown 65, American 48: Otto Porter Jr. amassed 16 points and 13 rebounds as the host Hoyas posted their seventh consecutive win.

Greg Whittington contributed 13 points and five other players scored six or more for Georgetown (10-1), which shot 50 percent from 3-point range and 75 percent from the free-throw line in its final non-conference game of the season. The Hoyas came into the game tied for 275th in the nation in foul shooting at 64.6 percent.

Daniel Munoz led the Eagles (4-8) with 15 points. American shot just 28.6 percent from the field and went 6-of-27 in the second half.

The Hoyas embarked on a 16-0 run that bridged halftime to take control. Georgetown scored the final eight points of the first half and opened the second period on an 8-0 run to compile a 48-25 lead.

Georgetown led by as many as 26, but American battled back with a 12-0 run to make it a 60-46 game with 4:16 remaining. That's as close as the Eagles would get, as Georgetown held American without a field goal for the remainder of the contest.
