LSU 102, Northwestern State 95: Shavon Coleman came off the bench to score 22 points and the host Tigers closed the first half with a 23-8 run before holding off the high-scoring Demons.

LSU (3-0) trailed 33-30 with 4:23 remaining in the first half before scoring 23 of the final 31 points prior to halftime. Anthony Hickey hit three 3-pointers during the surge and finished with 21 points. He also added seven rebounds, six assists and five steals.

James Hulbin led Northwestern State (3-1) with 29 points, finishing 9-for-12 from the field with three 3-pointers. DeQuan Hicks added 28 points off the bench and Jalan West added 14.

Charles Carmouche hit two 3-pointers and shot 11-for-15 from the free-throw line, finishing with 19 points for LSU.

GAME NOTEBOOK: LSU shot only 56.9 percent (29-for-51) from the free-throw line. … Down 16 in the second half, the Demons pulled within four points on Hicks’ basket with 1:56 remaining before LSU held on. ... The Tigers collected 19 offensive rebounds.
