Oklahoma 63, UT Arlington 59: Steven Pledger's 3-pointer with 2:19 remaining broke a 57-57 tie and the Sooners held on after squandering a 17-point second-half lead to beat the host Mavericks.

Leading 47-30 with 15:14 left in the game, Oklahoma (2-0) looked to be in control before UT Arlington (1-1) rallied to tie the game.

Buddy Hield came off the bench to lead Oklahoma with 17 points and Romero Osby added 10. Pledger, the leading returning scorer in the Big 12, tallied nine as the Sooners used a 22-1 run in the first half to take control before settling for a 38-28 halftime advantage.

Kevin Butler led the Mavericks with 14 points and Karol Gruszecki added 13.

NOTEBOOK: Oklahoma is 2-0 for the 10th straight season. ... Texas Tech transfer Jamel Outler scored only two points on 1-of-10 shooting, including 0-for-6 from 3-point range for UTA.
