Oklahoma snapped a five-game losing streak with a 71-58 win over Gardner-Webb Thursday in Norman, Okla.
Steven Pledger, who's making the transition from point guard to shooting guard, led the Sooners (4-5) with 20 points. Andrew Fitzgerald and Cade Davis joined Pledger in double figures with 16 and 15 respectively.
Oklahoma led by 16 at half and maintained a double-digit lead for much of the second half, yet wasn't able to deliver a knockout punch to the Bulldogs (6-6) from until the last five minutes.
Jonathan Davis had 14, and Luke Davis added 10 for Gardner-Webb of the Big South.
The Sooners continue a string of home games against Oral Roberts Saturday.
Things don't get any easier for the Bulldogs, who continue a stretch of six straight road games at Arizona State Saturday and Louisville on Dec. 18.
