Knicks 101, 76ers 91: Andrea Bargnani matched his season high with 25 points and Langston Galloway and Jason Smith came up big down the stretch as host New York stopped a long skid.
Shane Larkin recorded his first career double-double with 15 points and a career-best 11 rebounds to go with seven assists for the Knicks, who snapped a nine-game losing streak. Lance Thomas finished with 14 points and nine rebounds and Bargnani recorded eight rebounds, four assists and four blocks for New York.
Nerlens Noel (eye), who missed the second half of Saturday's loss at Charlotte, had 14 points, nine rebounds and four assists for the 76ers, who have lost six straight and eight of nine since beating New York 97-81 on March 20. Ish Smith had 17 points and seven assists and Hollis Thompson added five 3-pointers and 17 points for Philadelphia.
Galloway drove the lane for two and then took a backdoor, no-look pass from Jason Smith for a thunderous slam dunk that provided New York a 91-87 lead with 2:57 remaining. Jason Smith then blocked two shots at the rim over the next 90 seconds and Galloway drained a 3-pointer as the Knicks improved to 3-1 against Philadelphia this season.
Bargnani scored 10 of his 13 first-quarter points, which included two 3-pointers, in the final 4:29 as New York forged a 26-20 advantage, and the 7-footer scored six more points in the final 3:43 of the second quarter as New York carried a 54-51 edge into the break. Lou Amundson and Bargnani combined for 13 points in the third quarter as the Knicks stretched the margin to seven by the end of the period, but Philadelphia scored 11 straight to take an 85-83 lead with 5:34 left.
GAME NOTEBOOK: New York finished with 14 blocked shots, one shy of the franchise record. ... Jason Smith finished with six points and four blocks in 20 minutes and Galloway had eight points and five boards. … Thompson was 5-of-6 from the arc, the rest of the team 5-of-26.
