Knicks 95, Hawks 82: Carmelo Anthony continued his hot streak with 40 points and J.R. Smith added 19 as visiting New York ran its winning streak to 10 games.

Anthony was 17-for-27 from the field and has scored 90 points the past two nights for the Knicks, who moved a half-game clear of Indiana in the race for the No. 2 seed in the Eastern Conference playoffs. Anthony matched his career high with 50 points Tuesday against Miami.

Kyle Korver poured in 25 points and Jeff Teague added 15 and nine assists for Atlanta, which had a two-game winning streak snapped. The Hawks are in fifth place in the East, a half-game ahead of Chicago. Korver was 6-for-10 from 3-point range and has made at least one 3-pointer in 69 consecutive games, the fourth-longest streak in NBA history.

New York led 47-40 at halftime behind 24 points from Anthony, but Atlanta reeled off a 12-3 run midway through the third to close the gap and it was tied at 68 entering the fourth.

The Knicks dominated the final period, taking control when three straight layups from Raymond Felton pushed the lead to 82-74 and Smith outscored the Hawks 7-1 on his own over a two-minute span to put it out of reach.

GAME NOTEBOOK: The Knicks have won the last three meetings with Atlanta and have a chance to sweep the season series in the regular-season finale April 17 in New York. … New York failed to reach 100 points for the first time in seven games, snapping its longest streak of the season. … Atlanta C Al Horford was limited to nine points on 4-of-10 shooting, snapping his streak of 32 consecutive games scoring in double figures, one shy of his career-best.
