Hawks 98, Bucks 90: Jeff Teague had 27 points and 11 assists and Al Horford collected 26 points and 15 rebounds as host Atlanta held on to win a matchup of likely Eastern Conference playoff teams.

Josh Smith added 12 points and 16 boards and Devin Harris scored 15 for the Hawks, who have won four of their last five to protect the No. 5 spot in the East.

Brandon Jennings scored 21 points and Larry Sanders contributed 19 points, 14 rebounds and four blocks for Milwaukee, which has lost four of six overall and five of the past six meetings with Atlanta. Leading scorer Monta Ellis scored five points on 2-of-14 shooting.

The Hawks led 48-43 at halftime and broke it open in the third quarter. Atlanta held Milwaukee without a field goal for the final 5:33 of the period to close the quarter on an 11-1 run and take a 77-59 advantage into the fourth.

The Bucks rekindled their offense in the final period and 3-pointers from J.J. Redick and Mike Dunleavy helped them claw within 94-90 with 58 seconds left, but Smith and Horford each made a pair of free throws to seal it.

GAME NOTEBOOK: Hawks SF Kyle Korver scored nine points to hit the 7,000-point mark for his career and pulled even with Terry Porter for 30th all-time with 1,297 made 3-pointers. … Sanders (184) is tied with Harvey Catchings for the fourth-most blocks in a season in Milwaukee history. … Horford has recorded double-doubles in five consecutive games and nine of the past 10.
