Blazers 92, Celtics 86: Wesley Matthews scored 24 points, including five 3-pointers, and host Portland snapped its seven-game losing streak.

After trailing by eight points with 5:50 remaining in the fourth quarter, Boston tied the game at 86 on Kevin Garnett's basket with 1:46 to play. Portland closed the game with six unanswered points, including Matthews’ clinching 3-pointer with 53 seconds left.

Paul Pierce had 23 points and eight assists to lead the Celtics, who lost for the second time in the last 15 meetings against the Trail Blazers. Garnett added 20 points and nine rebounds in 33 minutes.

Nicolas Batum had 18 points and LaMarcus Aldridge chipped in 16 for Portland, which recorded its sixth win in its last 21 games. J.J. Hickson had 11 points and 11 boards for his 30th double-double this season and Victor Claver grabbed a career-high 10 rebounds.

Boston trailed by as many as 11 midway through the second quarter before opening the second half with a 13-5 run to lead 55-54. The Celtics made two of their 13 shots from 3-point range and fell to 1-3 on their five-game road trip that concludes in Utah on Monday.

GAME NOTEBOOK: PG Eric Maynor had two points in 15 minutes in his first game with Portland since being traded from Oklahoma City at Thursday’s trade deadline. … Matthews has made at least four 3-pointers in 13 games this season, tied for fourth-most in the NBA. … Boston, which recorded its first road win against a Western Conference opponent on Friday, fell to 9-18 on the road.
