Bucks 99, Celtics 94 (OT): Monta Ellis rebounded from a horrific shooting performance two nights earlier to score 27 points as Milwaukee defeated host Boston in overtime.

Ellis tallied a season-low four points on 1-of-14 shooting in a loss to Memphis on Wednesday before sparking the Bucks toward their third victory in four meetings with the Celtics this season. Luc Richard Mbah a Moute scored a season-best 20 points and Larry Sanders had 17 points and a season-high 20 rebounds.

Paul Pierce had 35 points and 12 rebounds and Jeff Green added 14 for Boston, which has lost four of five games.

Ellis scored five points in the extra season, including the go-ahead free throw with 27.5 seconds left. Brandon Jennings added two free throws with 18.5 seconds remaining to cap off a 12-point, 11-rebound effort and Sanders slammed home a dunk for the final margin.

The Celtics led 70-62 entering the final quarter before Milwaukee began the period with a 12-2 run to take a two-point lead. The Bucks extended the lead to 88-81 with 42.2 seconds left before the Celtics rolled off seven straight points and tied the contest on Pierce’s 3-pointer with 2.5 seconds left.

GAME NOTEBOOK: Pierce was 13-of-23 from the field and has connected on 39 of 62 shots (62.9 percent) over the past four games. … The 20-point outing was just the fourth of Mbah a Moute’s five-year NBA career. … Green departed with 18.5 seconds left in overtime after taking an elbow to the face from Milwaukee’s Ersan Ilyasova.
