NUGGETS 123, WARRIORS 84: Rookie Kenneth Faried recorded season-highs with 27 points and 17 rebounds as host Denver crushed Golden State.

Danilo Gallinari returned from a thumb injury to score 15 points and Andre Miller had 12 assists as the Nuggets avenged Saturday’s loss to the Warriors.

Rookie Klay Thompson scored 17 points and Nate Robinson added 16 for Golden State, which has lost eight of 10 games.

Denver had a dominating 60-27 rebounding edge while notching its largest victory of the season and bouncing back from the demoralizing 15-point loss to the Warriors in Oakland. The 39-point margin ties for sixth-largest in franchise history.

The margin also represents Golden State’s worst loss of the season.

The contest was a laugher from the outset as Denver scored the first 10 points and led 17-2 after two free throws by Arron Afflalo only four-plus minutes into the game.

Gallinari hit two free throws to make it 30-7 with 3:28 left in the quarter. The Nuggets led 37-13 entering the second quarter and boosted the lead to more than 30 later in the period before settling for a 65-38 halftime lead.

Denver continued to possess a large lead throughout the second half and it reached 40 at 114-74 on Corey Brewer’s 3-pointer with 3:07 to play.

Afflalo scored 15 points and Corey Brewer and JaVale McGee added 13 points apiece for the Nuggets.

Golden State connected on 12 3-pointers – four apiece by Robinson and Thompson – but shot only 36.9 percent from the field.

Denver shot 54.5 percent and was 9 for 18 from 3-point range.

GAME NOTEBOOK: The Warriors have lost six games by 20 or more points this season. … Gallinari had missed 10 straight games. … Golden State's David Lee made 4 of 15 field-goal attempts … Ty Lawson and Al Harrington added 10 points to give Denver seven players in double digits.
