Amare Stoudemire scored 36 points to match a franchise record for consecutive 30-point contests and the New York Knicks won their seventh straight game with a 101-95 victory over the host Washington Wizards on Friday.
Stoudemire tied the team mark of seven that Willie Naulls set in 1962 as the Knicks equaled the franchise’s longest winning streak since the 2000-01 squad also won seven consecutive outings.
Wilson Chandler and Danilo Gallinari added 16 points apiece for New York, which has won 12 of its last 13 games.
Gilbert Arenas scored 20 points for Washington (6-16). Nick Young scored 17 points and Andray Blatche added 16 points for the Wizards, who have lost four straight contests.
Washington rookie John Wall returned from a foot injury but scored just eight points on 4-of-14 shooting.
Stoudemire scored 21 second-half points. He also had a team-high 10 rebounds and committed 11 of New York’s 20 turnovers.
