Giancarlo Stanton and Oswaldo Cabrera homered on Saturday to help the visiting New York Yankees down the Pittsburgh Pirates 6-3.

Estevan Florial added a two-run single and Austin Wells had an RBI double for the Yankees (76-73), who have won the first two games of the three-game set. New York has also won six of its last seven games overall.

Yankees starter Luke Weaver, making his New York debut after being claimed off waivers from Seattle on Tuesday, pitched four innings. He allowed three runs and four hits, with seven strikeouts and two walks.

Jhony Brito (8-7) followed Weaver with three perfect innings, Ian Hamilton logged a perfect eighth and Clay Holmes tossed a perfect ninth for his 21st save of the season as the Yankees retired 21 Pirates in a row to end the game.

Bryan Reynolds homered and Endy Rodriguez had a sacrifice fly for the Pirates (69-80), who are 3-3 in their past six games.

Pittsburgh starter Luis L. Ortiz (4-5) gave up four runs and six hits in 4 2/3 innings, with two strikeouts and six walks.

In the top of the first, DJ LeMahieu walked. After Aaron Judge struck out, Gleyber Torres walked. Wells then knocked in LeMahieu with a double to center for a 1-0 Yankees lead. Stanton walked to load the bases and, after Anthony Volpe popped out, Florial's single to right drove in Torres and Wells to make it 3-0.

Pittsburgh cut into its deficit in the bottom of the first. Ji Hwan Bae walked to open the inning and Reynolds followed with his 22nd homer of the season.

Stanton led off the third with his 24th homer to up New York's lead to 4-2.

The Pirates got a run back in the bottom of the third. Ke'Bryan Hayes led off with a double to left center. He went to third on Jack Suwinski's groundout and scored on Rodriguez's sacrifice fly to right, pulling Pittsburgh within 4-3.

In the sixth, Judge drew a one-out walk. Torres doubled down the line in left, moving Judge to third. Judge scored on a wild pitch by reliever Hunter Stratton to put New York up 5-3.
