DENVER -- Slumping Carlos Gonzalez showed some offensive life, and Mark Reynolds ended a long homer drought Tuesday night as the Colorado Rockies held off the San Diego Padres 9-7 for their 1,000th win at Coors Field.

After the Padres struck for three runs in the first, Reynolds hit a three-run homer in the bottom of the inning. It was his 20th homer but his first in 55 at-bats since June 26.

Gonzalez's two-run double in a four-run fifth gave the Rockies a 6-4 lead. He singled home a run in the sixth that put the Colorado ahead 9-6.

The double, which broke a string of 11 hitless at-bats, was Gonzalez's first extra-base hit since June 21.

"I was just trying to be me," Gonzalez said. "It's not like we re-invented something or changed my swing. Just trying to be like my old self."

While not in the lineup the past two days, Gonzalez studied video of himself swinging recently and when he was going well. He said he tried to stay calm and not overswing, lowering his hands and attempting to swing at pitches in the strike zone.

He entered the game hitting .214 in 77 games with six homers, 29 RBIs and a .143 average (10-for-70) with runners in scoring position. More recently, Gonzalez had gone 4-for-27 with 10 strikeouts since being reinstated from the disabled list July 3. He missed nine games with a right shoulder strain.

"It's more frustration than doubt, because when the game feels really fast, that's when you're concerned," Gonzalez said. "But that's not my case. I was seeing the ball well. I'm healthy. I felt strong. I was just missing my pitches. And when you miss your pitches, it's just mechanical issues."

It was Gonzalez's first multi-RBI game since June 6. And with three RBIs, he matched his total from his past 11 games.

The win was the eighth in 23 games for the Rockies, who last won three straight when they completed a six-game winning streak June 18.

"Make it four tomorrow. Why not?" said Colorado left fielder Gerardo Parra, who reached base five times, going 3-for-3 with a double and two walks.

In the three victories, the Rockies have piled up 31 runs.

"Maybe 20 more tomorrow," Parra said. "Just got to stay positive."

Rookie Antonio Senzatela (10-3), who won for the first time since June 16, gave up four runs (three earned) in five innings in his first start since June 22. With an eye toward limiting his innings, the Rockies gave him a three-game breather in the bullpen and had him make a start last week at Triple-A Albuquerque.

"I felt strong," Senzatela said. "I feel really good today. I got my fastball command."

Rockies manager Bud Black lifted him after 83 pitches.

Senzatela said, "I told the manager, 'I feel really good.' He said, 'OK, next time.'"

Senzatela gave up two doubles and an infield single and three runs (one unearned) in the first. However, he didn't allow another hit until Wil Myers, the next-to-last batter Senzatela faced, homered with two outs in the fifth to give the Padres a 4-3 lead.

"He's 22 years old," Black said of Senzatela said. "He was in Double-A last year. He's got the heart of a lion. He's just got to keep pitching."

Closer Greg Holland struck out the three batters he faced in the ninth to earn his 30th save in 31 opportunities.

Taking the mound on his 25th birthday, Padres rookie Dinelson Lamet (3-4) gave up six runs (five earned) in four innings with four walks and seven strikeouts in his Coors Field debut.

Lamet walked two of the first three batters he faced and paid dearly for it when Reynolds belted a first-pitch fastball over the wall in center.

"He's commanding the slider, and he's having trouble commanding the fastball," Padres manager Andy Green said of Lamet. "If he wants to be great, he's got to get to his great pitch sooner (rather) than stay with the fastball."

San Diego's one-run lead in the fifth was short-lived when the Rockies struck for four runs in their half of the inning for a 7-4 advantage. Charlie Blackmon led off with his major-league-leading 12th triple. He scored when DJ LeMahieu followed with a sacrifice fly, a line drive that went off the glove of right fielder Jabari Blash.

Parra followed with a single that finished Lamet. With one out, Gonzalez doubled home two runs against Phil Maton with a drive into the gap in right-center. Alexi Amarista made it 7-4 with a two-out single that scored Gonzalez.

Parra has at least one RBI in eight straight games since being reinstated July 7 after missing 28 games due to a quad strain. In those eight games, he is hitting .516 (16-for-31).
