Matt Chapman and Khris Davis homered, and the Oakland A's continued to dominate the punchless Detroit Tigers with a 2-1 victory on Saturday night.

Edwin Jackson (3-2) gave up one unearned run on five hits in 6 1/3 innings while collecting the victory. Blake Treinen pitched the ninth and recorded his 28th save.

The Athletics have won five straight during their sustained push for a playoff spot. They have given up just seven runs during the winning streak.

Chapman and Marcus Semien were the only Oakland players who recorded multi-hit games.

Detroit is 0-6 against the Athletics this season after dropping the first two games of the series, including a 1-0, 13-inning loss on Friday. Dating back to last season, the Tigers have lost 11 straight to Oakland.

Tigers starter Jordan Zimmermann (4-4) gave up both runs on six hits while striking out six in 6 1/3 innings. Zimmermann has lost his last four starts.

Jeimer Candelario had two hits and knocked in the lone run for Detroit. The Tigers, who came into the game batting .230 on the road, had just one extra-base hit. They are now 17-18 in one-run games.

A miscue led to the Tigers' first-inning run. Leadoff hitter JaCoby Jones hit a shallow fly to left, and Oakland shortstop Marcus Semien and left fielder Nick Martini collided on the play as the ball dropped in. Martini was charged with a two-base error. Jones scored on Candelario's two-out single.

Oakland loaded the bases in the first, but Zimmermann escaped the jam when Stephen Piscotty lined out to right.

The A's used the long ball to take the lead in the third. Chapman led off the inning with a homer to center, his 14th. One out later, Davis drilled a no-doubter to left-center for his 30th homer this season.

Oakland left a runner on third in the fourth. The A's stranded two more in the seventh when reliever Drew VerHagen struck out Jed Lowrie.

Treinen gave up a two-out single to Candelario but struck out pinch hitter James McCann to end the game.
