Phillies 4, Mets 0: Kyle Kendrick pitched a three-hitter for his second career shutout and Ryan Howard belted a three-run homer in the sixth inning as visiting Philadelphia snapped a three-game losing streak.

Kendrick (2-1) allowed one walk while striking out five for his third career complete game. Michael Young added three hits and an RBI while Howard recorded his second homer in three days for Philadelphia.

Mets starter Dillon Gee (1-4) allowed four runs and seven hits over six innings, losing for the second time to Philadelphia this season. New York has scored two runs or fewer in four of its last five games and was shut out for the first time this season.

Jimmy Rollins and Chase Utley each singled to set the table for the Phillies in their four-run sixth inning. Young followed with an RBI single and Howard hammered a 1-1 pitch from Gee into the seats in center field for a 4-0 lead.

Howard hit his fourth home run – second this season – in 12 career at-bats against Gee. Kendrick, who has allowed only four runs in his last four starts, did not allow a Mets runner past second base.

GAME NOTEBOOK: The Phillies have won eight of their last 11 games at Citi Field and have beaten the Mets seven of the last eight meetings overall. … Mets manager Terry Collins moved captain David Wright into the clean-up spot in the order for the first time this season. Wright had a single in four at-bats. … Home-plate umpire Brian O’Nora left the game in the bottom of the first inning with flu-like symptoms and did not return.
