Rockies 4, Diamondbacks 3:
Jorge De La Rosa allowed two hits in six shutout innings as host Colorado won its eighth straight game and recorded its best start after 17 contests in franchise history.

Michael Cuddyer homered while Carlos Gonzalez and Troy Tulowitzki added RBIs for the Rockies, who are the majors' only undefeated team at home (8-0). De La Rosa (2-1) allowed a baserunner in five of his six innings, but was aided by two double plays.

Eric Chavez hit a pinch-hit two-run homer in the eighth inning for Arizona, which has lost four of its first five of a nine-game road trip. Trevor Cahill (0-3) allowed four runs (three earned) and six hits in seven innings.

Colorado's Eric Young Jr. led off the third inning with a triple before Dexter Fowler was hit by a pitch and stole second. Gonzalez delivered a run-scoring groundout and Tulowitzki hit a sacrifice fly to give the Rockies a 3-0 lead.

Cuddyer crushed Cahill's first pitch of the sixth inning - a hanging curveball - into the left-field seats. The Diamondbacks made it 4-3 on Miguel Montero's one-out bases-loaded groundout in the ninth inning before Rafael Betancourt retired Wil Nieves on a short fly ball to earn his seventh save in seven chances.

GAME NOTEBOOK:
Arizona RF Cody Ross was ejected by home plate umpire Chad Fairchild because he flipped his bat after being called out on strikes to end the seventh inning. Manager Kirk Gibson had to restrain Ross before he was also thrown out. ... Since allowing a three-run homer to San Francisco's Hunter Pence in the first inning April 8, De La Rosa has yielded one run in 17 innings. ... Cuddyer was 1-for-16 against Cahill before the home run.
