Rockies 6, Giants 5: Chris Nelson hit an RBI triple and scored on Charlie Blackmon's single in the sixth inning as host Colorado withstood a comeback attempt to snap its five-game losing streak.

With the Rockies ahead 4-2, Nelson plated Wilin Rosario with a two-out triple and came home on Blackmon's single to right field. The runs proved crucial as Buster Posey belted a two-run homer in the seventh and Angel Pagan delivered an RBI double in the eighth to get San Francisco within 6-5.

Posey and Pagan had three hits apiece while Hunter Pence also went deep for the Giants, whose lead over idle Los Angeles in the National League West was reduced to five games.

Guillermo Moscoso (2-1) picked up the win in relief of starter Alex White, who hit his first career home run but was pulled after throwing 76 pitches over four innings. White yielded one run and six hits while Moscoso allowed a run and three hits in two frames.

Rex Brothers and Matt Belisle combined to surrender three runs over two innings before Rafael Betancourt struck out two in a perfect ninth for his 28th save.

Giants starter Ryan Vogelsong (12-8) surrendered four runs and six hits in five innings as he fell to 5-1 lifetime against Colorado.

Josh Rutledge and Jordan Pacheco had RBI hits in the first to give the Rockies a 2-0 lead that was halved when Pence led off the second with his 20th homer of the season and third in 38 games with the Giants.

GAME NOTEBOOK: Rosario was held out of the starting lineup after being charged with five passed balls in his previous two games, including four in Sunday's loss in the opener of a doubleheader in Philadelphia. The rookie was forced to get behind the plate in the fifth inning, however, as Ramon Hernandez exited in the fourth with a strained left hamstring. ... San Francisco RHP Clay Hensley is expected to be activated from the disabled list Tuesday. Hensley has been sidelined since Aug. 27 with a strained right groin.
