Braves 9, Mets 3: Rookie Tyler Pastornicky belted a two-run double to highlight a five-run second inning and Freddie Freeman also drove in a pair of runs as host Atlanta defeated New York for the first time in five meetings this season.

Freeman capped an 11-pitch at-bat with an RBI double and Pastornicky scored after advancing on first baseman Ike Davis' error during the second inning. Jason Heyward's RBI single brought about the earliest exit in the career of Johan Santana (0-2), who yielded six runs on four hits in 1 1/3 innings.

Staked to an offensive outburst, Randall Delgado (2-0) allowed three runs on seven hits in 5 1/3 innings.

Kris Medlen yielded just one hit and struck out four in 2 2/3 scoreless innings to bridge the gap to Eric O'Flaherty, who retired the side in the ninth.

David Wright had a pair of hits and has reached base at least twice in his first eight games of the season.

Josh Thole and Mike Baxter had RBI singles in the fourth inning for New York. Daniel Murphy added an infield run-scoring single in the sixth.

GAME NOTEBOOK: Atlanta sent 10 men to the plate during the second inning. ... The last time the Mets won their first five games versus the Braves was 1989. ... In nine career starts, Delgado has yet to yield more than three runs in any game. ... Since joining the Mets in 2008, Santana has won just three of nine career decisions versus the Braves.
