Stephen Drew belted a bases-clearing triple in the fifth inning and rookie Josh Collmenter tossed a season-high seven innings as the Arizona Diamondbacks cruised to a 4-0 home triumph over the Washington Nationals on Friday.

Chris Young led off the second inning with his 10th homer of the season as Arizona posted its 17th victory in 21 games.

The offense was more than enough for Collmenter (4-1), who secured his third win in four decisions since moving into the starting rotation. He allowed three hits while striking out five to pick up the victory.

David Hernandez retired the side in order in the eighth inning and Joe Paterson did the same in the ninth to preserve the win.

Washington's Michael Morse saw his 11-game hitting streak come to an end following an 0-for-4 effort at the plate. He struck out to end the game.

Yunesky Maya (0-1) permitted four runs on six hits in 4 1/3 innings for the Nationals, who failed in their bid to record their second four-game winning streak of the season. Washington outfielder Jayson Werth sat out the contest with an injured elbow.
