Tyler Ross had a career-high eight strikeouts and the Oakland A's snapped a two-game skid with a 6-2 win over the visiting Chicago White Sox on Saturday.

Ross (3-2) allowed two runs on six hits over 7 1/3 innings for the A's, whose pitching staff entered the game with a major-league leading 2.76 ERA.

The A's scored twice in the second inning on Cliff Pennington's RBI single and a Daric Barton's sacrifice fly.

Chicago starter Gavin Floyd (4-3) gave up five runs and nine hits over 4 1/3 innings.

The A's knocked Floyd out of the game with three runs in the fifth inning. David DeJesus tripled in two runs and Kurt Suzuki followed with an RBI single.

Chicago, which entered the game having won five of its last six, scored twice in the sixth on Paul Konerko's 10th home run.
