Jake Westbrook scattered nine hits and allowed only one earned run in a complete game to lead the Cleveland Indians to a 5-1 victory over the Baltimore Orioles Sunday at Camden Yards.

Westbrook (2-2) is continuing his comeback after having Tommy John surgery on his right elbow. His eight strikeouts was one shy of his career high and he now has back-to-back wins, his first victories since April 2008. It was Westbrook’s 13th career complete game.

Cleveland took a 1-0 lead in the third inning on an RBI single from Grady Sizemore.

The Tribe increased their lead to 3-0 on a two-run homer by Matt LaPorta off losing pitcher Mark Hendrickson (1-1), who got the surprise spot start over scheduled starter David Hernandez.

The Indians pushed the lead to 5-0 on a two-run homer by Russell Branyan. Cleveland banged out 12 hits against four Baltimore pitchers, the second straight game that Cleveland reached double figures in hits.

The Indians (15-20) took two of three from the Orioles (12-26) to win their second consecutive series.

Luke Scott hit a solo homer in the ninth for the Orioles, ruining Westbrook’s chance at a shutout.
